Our Mission:

CNI works for U.S. Middle East policies that serve the national interest; that represent the highest values of our founders and our citizens; and that work to sustain a nation of honor, decency, security, and prosperity.

Re-examining our Policies

Many of the most serious dangers facing Americans today stem from our highly unusual relationship with Israel.

Our uniquely massive support for Israel has cost trillions of dollars and multitudes of lives. It has diminished our moral standing in the world, lessened our domestic freedoms, and exposed us to unnecessary and growing peril.

The majority of Americans – as well as our diplomatic and military experts – oppose this unique relationship.

Yet, special interest lobbies continue to foment policies that are disastrous for our nation and tragic for the region.

If we are to have sensible, effective policies that promote safety rather than danger, then it is essential that all Americans become active and informed. Lives depend on it.

Aggression Israel initiated almost all of its wars and is virtually always the instigator of renewed bouts of violence. For example, while many Americans have been led to believe that the 2008-09 Israeli assault on Gaza was defensive, in reality, Israel was the party that first violated the ceasefire. Israel has received more American money than any other nation on earth.  It receives this money in a lump sum at the beginning of the fiscal year. Read the Full Story
Israel Lobby The Lobby for Israel overrules US experts: Fortune Magazine rates one of the many lobby organizations working on behalf of Israel, AIPAC, as the second most powerful lobby in Washington. Many analysts consider the pro-Israel interest group the most powerful lobby in our nation. Read the Full Story
US Attacked Israeli forces attacked a US Navy ship, killing or injuring 200 servicemen. An independent commission by extraordinarily high-ranking military officers found that Israel had commited an act of war against the US, the President had recalled rescue aircraft, and had ordered a cover-up. "...a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils.

Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into aparticipation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification.

...and it gives to ambitious, corrupted, or deluded citizens (who devote themselves to the favorite nation) facility to betray or sacrifice the interests of their own country,

...such attachments are particularly alarming to the truly enlightened and independent patriot. How many opportunities do they afford to tamper with domestic factions, to practice the arts of seduction, to mislead public opinion, to influence or awe the public councils...

Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence... the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake..."
