Judge blaming Rachel Corrie for her own death highlights Israel’s impunity, family says
Electronic Intifada - The Haifa District court ruled earlier today that the Israeli military is not responsible for killing American activist Rachel Corrie, and that Corrie was to blame for her own death.
“Even when she saw the mount of earth moving towards her, she did not move away. The accident was caused by the deceased,” said Israeli Judge Oded Gershon, as he read out a summary of the 62-page ruling in front of a packed courthouse and with Rachel’s mother Cindy, father Craig and sister Sarah sitting in the front row.
Israel's inquiry into death of activist Rachel Corrie not credible, says US
The Independent - Israel has failed to carry out the "thorough, credible and transparent investigation" it had promised into the death of American activist Rachel Corrie in Gaza nine years ago, the US ambassador in Tel Aviv has reiterated to her family.
The Haifa district court is expected to deliver a verdict next Tuesday in the civil action brought against the State of Israel by the bereaved family of Ms Corrie, who was crushed to death by a military bulldozer while part of a group seeking to prevent the destruction of Palestinian homes in the southern Gaza border town of Rafah.
Israeli Settlers Invade Nablus Village, Write Racist Graffiti
IMEMC - A number of extremist Israeli settlers invaded, on Wednesday at dawn, the village of Awarta, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and tried to torch two Palestinian cars after writing racist graffiti against the Palestinians.
Local sources reported that the settlers came from Itamar illegal settlement, built on Palestinian lands, near Awarta village, east of Nablus.
Palestinian Wounded By Settlers Molotov Bomb Is in Serious Condition
IMEMC - The Palestine News Network (PNN) reported that resident Ayman Hasan Ghayatha, 36, who was wounded along with his family by a firebomb hurled by extremist Israeli settlers at a Palestinian taxi near Bethlehem on Thursday, is now in a serious condition at the Hadassah Israeli hospital in Jerusalem.
Resident Ribhi Ghayatha told the PNN that Ayman was directly hit by the firebomb in his abdomen leading to serious injuries; Mohammad is currently at the Intensive Care Unit in Hadassah Israeli Hospital in Jerusalem.
Jewish Settlers Attack Palestinian Home, Attempt to Torch It
IMEMC - A number of armed extremist Israeli settlers attacked, on Tuesday at dawn, a Palestinian home in Far’ata village, west of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and tried to torch it.
Palestinian official in charge of the Settlements file in the northern part of the West Bank, Ghassan Douglas, reported that several settlers poured flammable liquid at the main entrance of the home and ignited it.

Three Palestinian youth hospitalized after attack by Israeli mob
IMEMC - In Jerusalem Friday, a mob of Israelis chanting 'Death to Arabs' attacked three young Palestinians, nearly killing one and severely wounding the other two.
The attack took place in Zion Square, where three as-yet unidentified Palestinian youth were walking when the mob began beating them, chanting ethnic slurs including “A Jew is a soul and an Arab is a son of a b--”
Palestinian Father, Mother And Children Injured By Settlers Firebomb
IMEMC - Palestinian medical sources in Bethlehem reported Thursday that a cab driver, a Palestinian father, mother and their children, from Nahhalin town, near Bethlehem, suffered moderate to severe injuries after fundamentalist Israeli settlers hurled a firebomb at the Palestinian cab.
The attack took place when the Palestinian Taxi was driving near the illegal Bat Ayin and Gavot illegal settlements, close to the Gush Etzion settlement block, south the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Jewish Settlers Empty Palestinian Well, Flood Farmlands
IMEMC - A group of extremist Israeli settlers used electric pumps to empty a Palestinian irrigation well and flooded Palestinian farmlands in as-Seer area, east of Sa’ir town, near the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
Resident Yassin Mohammad ash-Shalalda, told the Land Research Center that settlers of Esfir and Mitzad settlements carried out their attack on Tuesday at night. The settlers reportedly used a motor pump to empty the well and flooded the nearby Palestinian farmlands.
Israeli Mayor to Demolish UN Humanitarian Agency Emergency Shelter
IMEMC - Israeli Mayor of occupied Jerusalem, Nir Bakat, approved the demolition of two structures built by the United Nations (UN) as temporary emergency shelter for Palestinian families after Israel demolished their homes.
Israel strongly condemned the erection of the emergency shelters in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina. Israel accused the UN of overstepping its bounds and asserted that the trailer homes are illegal and should be demolished according to reports in the Israeli dailies Ha’aretz and The Jerusalem Post as well as the Palestine News Network.
